I hope these Connecticut drivers had "bear coverage" included in their car insurance. A car owner got quite the shock when they looked out in their driveway to see that a family of bears had taken over their vehicle. Though it might not have been intentional, a mother bear and her cub accidentally found themselves trapped inside - and they did some serious damage. Obviously, the mother bear and her cub were scared to be stuck inside the car, which led them to be quite reckless while inside the vehicle. Reports say that the horn was honking endlessly and the radio was blaring music, all while the mother and her baby tore the interior to pieces. It likely didn't help that another one of the mother's cubs was outside of the car. That probably only made matters worse for the two bears inside, who frantically tried to claw their way out. Which left the vehicle looking like this: https://twitter.com/WFSBnews/status/1816839792094478596 No respect at all for the leather interior... Connecticut environmental conservation police were called to the Winsted home, and they were able to safely get the bears out of the car. How? I know this sounds crazy, but... they opened the doors and the bears exited on their own terms. The mother bear and her two cubs ran off into the woods, leaving behind the concentrated path of destruction that they left behind in the car. It's not clear why the bears entered into the car, nor how they ultimately got trapped inside. Though no one was hurt in this incident (excluding the emotional damage of having your car ravaged by bears), this is yet another worrisome occurrence of bears interacting with humans in Connecticut. Over three black bear incidents have been reported in the state by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection in the past month, with the most serious being a woman bit by a bear in her backyard. It seems as though Connecticut has a growing black bear problem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E_VCze8B18
