Viewers of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics were not fans of the NBC/Peacock commentary.
Two of the announcers are Kelly Clarkson and former NFL star Peyton Manning. They join NBC Olympics primetime host Mike Tirico as the hosts of the Opening Ceremony .
While the announcers were rarely seen on screen, their voices could be heard over the performances and introductions of every country's team. Viewers took to X, formally known as Twitter , to share their thoughts on their commentary - which they didn't enjoy.

"Can we mute Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning? They are bringing zero value," one person wrote. Another added: "It would be nice if Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning to talk a lot less. PLEASE!"
A third chastised the news network, writing: "@NBC…..you couldn’t find ANYONE else to host besides Peyton Manning and Kelly Clarkson!!! Seriously!! They suck."
Meanwhile, others did enjoy Kelly's constant commentary with one writing: "I’m loving @kellyclarkson as a correspondent." Another said: " Lady Gaga performing a classic.. Kelly Clarkson queening out.. I love this year’s Olympics already."
Earlier this week, rumors swirled that Celine Dion would make her comeback performance at the opening ceremony when she was spotted leaving the Royal Monceau hotel on Tuesday. After, reports started to surface that she would perform a duet with Lady Gaga at the ceremony.
The Olympic opening ceremony took place on the Seine River, the first time the ceremony was outdoors. It was also the first floating ceremony, as the performers and athletes traveled on custom-made floats down the iconic river.
Parisians were concerned with the pollution in the river, believing it was unsafe to swim in. Mayor Anne Hidalgo swam in the Seine last week to prove it was safe.
A month before, Netflix released a film Under Paris about a man-eating shark in the Seine . People on Twitter, now known as X, made jokes about the Paris mayor not viewing the film before her dive.
