Prince Harry Reveals Real Reason He Keeps Meghan Markle Away From The UK

There's a reason Meghan Markle has not accompanied Prince Harry on his visits to the United Kingdom in recent years, and it has a lot to do with concern for her safety.

According to E!News , the Duke of Sussex has not brought his bride back to his native country the last few times he's visited due in large part to the cruel nature of the British tabloids. The royal father-of-two spoke about his distaste for negative press during a recent interview with ITV .

"It's still dangerous. And all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read . And whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It's one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."

Prince Harry is firm on his stance to keep Markle away from the UK press, sparked by previous run-ins with tabloids that took criticism of the Duchess of Sussex and the pair's children way "too far."

"They pushed me too far. It got to a point where you're dam*** if you do and you're dam*** if you don't. But I don't think there's anybody in the world better suited and placed to be able to see this through than myself."

The beloved royal even took one publisher, Mirror Group Newspapers, to UK court last year and "came out victorious."

Harsh words printed by British tabloids have not only cultivated Prince Harry's concern for the safety of his wife and children ( Archie Harrison , 5, and Lilibet Diana , 3), but also nearly shattered his relationship with his father, King Charles III , and brother, Prince William .

"I’ve made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done, it would be nice if we did it as a family. I believe that from a service standpoint and when you’re in a public role, these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. For me, the mission continues, but yes, it’s caused part of a rift.”
