This announcement is following a previous $5,000 donation made to the Bloomfield Fire Department towards the purchase of a new truck, and two donated benches, made from recycled wind turbine blades to the Bloomfield and Crofton Community schools.

National Grid Renewables attended the volunteer fire department’s bi-weekly meeting on Tuesday as a special guest, and the team was delighted to announce their donation to more than 20 members of the volunteer fire department. They also celebrated the occasion with Smokin’ Chip’s Catering of Wausa to serve a BBQ dinner.

“Thank you so much to National Grid Renewables for their generous donation to the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department. The guys had a great time learning about the North Fork Wind Farm and enjoyed the BBQ as well,” said Jason Wavrunek, fire chief of the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department. “The donation will be put to good use to help us purchase some much-needed tools for the fire department.”

The restaurant owner also reached out saying he appreciates the National Grid Renewables’ commitment to working with local businesses.
