The Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa finally have a deal.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins agreed to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with their franchise quarterback. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the contract includes $167 million in guarantees.

While a new deal for Tagovailoa has felt like an inevitability since the 2023 season ended, talks between the two sides dragged into training camp. Rather than hold out from practices, Tagovailoa attended camp, but participated on a limited basis through the first three days.

With an agreement finally in place, the Dolphins can officially turn their attention toward their high hopes for the 2024 season.

Tagovailoa, 26, was the No. 5 overall selection in the 2020 NFL draft and took over starting duties in Miami during his rookie season. In 51 career starts and 53 games, he has 12,639 passing yards, 81 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions.

Injuries cost Tagovailoa time in each of his first three NFL seasons, but he played all 17 games in 2023 and led the league in yards.
