The deal makes Tagovailoa the third-highest paid quarterback in the league.

Tagovailoa’s contract is the biggest contract ever signed by a professional athlete from Hawaii in both total dollars and average annual value.

Miami’s 2024 season officially begins on Sept. 8 in a Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prior to Friday, Tagovailoa was entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract. The new deal is the largest four-year contract received in NFL history, as well as the richest deal the Dolphins have ever given a player.
