Williamsport, Pa. — Just a couple of days after the Lycoming Regional Police Department's National Night Out events, the Williamsport Bureau of Police will have a Night Out of their own.

This year's Williamsport PD Night Out is a summertime complement to visits and presentations made to local students in the preceding months.

The Lycoming Regional PD Night Out will take place in multiple venues on Aug. 4. Read more about it here .

On Aug. 6, the Williamsport Bureau of Police will host their own community event at Shaw Park (1501 Sherman Street, Williamsport) from 5 to 8 p.m. Members of the public, fellow law enforcement, nonprofits, and community leaders are all cordially invited to join the fun.

The free event will feature a community cookout, food trucks, chances to meet local first responders, meets with City K9 units, face painting, free haircuts for children, inflatables, and more.

Nights Out were created to promote police-community partnerships and make the public feel more comfortable with their local law enforcement agencies. These events are great opportunities for police officers and their neighbors to meet and interact under positive circumstances.

“Everyone in our City deserves to feel safe, and events such as this one give the community an opportunity to interact with law enforcement agencies in a fun and positive way that fosters trust and relationship building,” said Williamsport Bureau of Police Chief Justin Snyder.

This year’s event is being hosted in thanks to generous sponsors including Lundy Warehousing, Lycoming College, Lycoming Engines, and Staiman Recycling. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Williamsport Bureau of Police K9 Unit.
