More lane closures at Fury's Ferry Road intersections

Columbia County recently announced a number of lane closures connected to the road-widening project for Fury’s Ferry Road that will affect traffic next week.

There will be a temporary lane closure at the North Belair Road and Fury’s Ferry Road intersection from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, according to a news release from the county.

The county said to expect delays and seek an alternate route, if possible.

There will also be closures affecting the following intersections: Blackstone Camp, Sullivan Hartfield, Malone Way and Oleander Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Aug. 9, according to the release.

"Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected," according to the county. "If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe."
