    Tony-Winning Actress Betty Buckley Signs With Sugar23 (EXCLUSIVE)

    Betty Buckley, the Tony-winning and Grammy-nominated actor and singer, has signed with Sugar23.

    Best known for her performances in on stage, particularly for her soaring rendition of “Memory” in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats,” Buckley has also been active in television, film and as a concert performer. Next up, Buckley will star in A24’s “Eternity” opposite Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen. She also is the creator, writer and star of the short animated film “The Mayfly,” which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival.

    Sugar23 was founded in 2017 by Michael Sugar, an Oscar-winning manager-producer who has helped bring the likes of “Spotlight,” “Dickinson,” and “13 Reasons” to screens.

    Other theater roles include Buckley’s Olivier-nominated performance as Norma Desmond in the West End production of “Sunset Boulevard” (she later played the part on Broadway). She also starred in the original Broadway production of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” as well as in the cult musical “Carrie.” In 2012, Buckley’s name was engraved into the walls of the Gershwin Theatre as part of the Theater Hall of Fame.

    On the big screen, Buckley has worked Brian De Palma on “Carrie,” Roman Polanski on “Frantic” opposite Harrison Ford, Woody Allen on “Another Woman” and M. Night Shyamalan on “The Happening.” She also appeared in Bruce Beresford’s “Tender Mercies,” an Oscar-winning drama that features her rendition of the Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning song “Over You.”

    Her series work includes her portrayal of stepmother Abby Bradford in the series “Eight is Enough.” For her performances in “Bobby and Sarah” and “Taking a Stand,” Buckley was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Program/Special.” Buckley has also released 16 solo albums and she has been nominated for a Grammy twice.
