One branch of the Jefferson County Clerk's Office has reopened with plans to open more branches Saturday, according to an email sent Friday afternoon.

Ashley Tinius, director of communications for the clerk's office, said the Dixie Highway branch has reopened with "limited availability." It was unclear how long the branch would remain open.

The Highview, Dixie, Jeffersontown, East and Westport branches will also open with limited availability from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Tinius said.

The agency has been closed since Monday when it was forced to shut down following a ransomware attack on its computer systems. Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw said Thursday that she did not believe any customer data had been compromised in the attack but said the FBI and the Central Infrastructure Security Administration are actively assisting with the investigation.

“Our forensic team and our IT team are checking everything. They are making sure everything is safe. We’re not going to reopen until we know the computers are safe and have not been infected,” Tinius said during a Thursday news conference.

Holsclaw said despite the service disruption, renewal deadlines for July would not be extended.

“The timing is not good for this because it being the end of the month, which is always heavy anyway, and then you’re going to add this onto it," she said. "We can only take as many people as we can, that’s why I’m going to open Saturday, to try to help that crowd.”
