NBC is pulling out all the stops in its coverage of the Summer Olympics in Paris, and that includes everyone from one of the NFL's all-time great quarterbacks to a famed rapper.

Snoop Dogg was not just on hand for Friday's Olympics opening ceremony. He actually got the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch before the event.

The 52-year-old rapper isn't French, but his fame isn't limited to the United States. Snoop Dogg was one of the last individuals to touch the famous Olympic torch before it lit the Olympic flame, and he promptly went right back into reporter mode for NBC and talked to some of the key figures in Paris for the games.

Here's a look at Snoop Dogg's carrying of the Olympic torch and his best moments from the opening ceremony on Friday.

    Snoop Dogg at the Olympics

Snoop Dogg was just about everywhere Friday in Paris, starting his day by taking a turn as the Olympic torch bearer for the torch's 67th leg of the journey to the heart of the city.

And, of course, Snoop did it his way.

Snoop Dogg is not competing at the Olympics, unfortunately, but he still gave it his best shot in the weight room.

He also met up with one of the early arrivals in Paris days before the opening ceremony, posting for a picture with the U.S. Olympic fencing team.

Snoop Dogg later joined NBC's Hoda Kotb to interview Simone Biles' family as the all-time great gymnast prepares to compete for more hardware. Only at the Olympics can a lifelong journalist and a rapper known for "Drop It Like It's Hot" conduct an interview together.

Before that could happen, though, Snoop Dogg got down to Lady Gaga's performance early in the ceremony.

Here's what you need to know about how much Snoop Dogg fans will be seeing during the Olympics.

Why is Snoop Dogg at the Olympics?

NBC brought Snoop Dogg on as a special correspondent for the Paris Olympics. If it wasn't already clear enough, it's not a remote or ceremonial role for the rap legend. He's on the ground in Paris talking to some of the most important figures involved in the Olympics, and he's expected to keep doing so throughout the games.

"I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris," Snoop Dogg said in a press release announcing the news. "It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness. We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix."

Snoop Dogg figures to give American fans a taste of home in Paris, and there's no doubt he plans to add some of how own flair to the coverage that no one else on NBC's team will be able to replicate.
