Nobody knows how to peacock quite like Lady Gaga.

The superstar took the stage by the Seine during the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, performing a pitch-perfect rendition of French icon Zizi Jeanmaire’s “Mon truc en plumes.”

Jeanmaire debuted the song in 1961 at London’s Alhambra Theatre, dressed in all-black Yves Saint Laurent and joined by 12 men carrying pink feather fans. It soon became her signature number, one she’d continue to perform throughout her career.

And Gaga re-created the dancer and actress’ staging for the opening ceremony, kicking off the show by descending the stairs in a Dior Haute Couture black feather jacket paired with a matching black-and-pink skirt dripping in plumage and sequins.

She later whipped off both pieces to reveal a black bustier and panties paired with opera gloves, heels and a feather headpiece.

Flanked by Dior-clad dancers brandishing bubblegum-colored feather shields and fans, Gaga delivered plenty of requisite razzle-dazzle during her performance of the cabaret classic, taking a turn at the piano and even getting hoisted into the air by her dancers at one point.

“I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organizing committee to sing such a special French song—a song to honor the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre,” Gaga wrote on Instagram shortly after her performance, sharing more photos of her dramatic costume.

“Although I am not a French artist, I have always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music—I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would warm the heart of France, celebrate French art and music, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth—Paris.”

She also revealed a special, personal tie to Jeanmaire; the dancer starred in Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes,” which was the first jazz song Gaga released with collaborator Tony Bennett.

Gaga also wrote that her team rented pompoms from Paris theater Le Lido, and that she “studied French choreography that put a modern twist on a French classic” to ensure her performance was as authentic as possible.

This marks the 13-time Grammy winner’s first time performing at the Olympic Games.

Celine Dion is also poised to sing during today’s opening ceremony, as a source confirmed to Page Six earlier this week — her first performance since she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022.

While the details of her performance have been kept tightly under wraps, here’s hoping for another spectacle of musical showmanship.
