School’s out at Clone High , with Max cancelling the revival after two seasons, TVLine has learned exclusively.

“Although Max will not proceed with a third season of Clone High , we will always cherish our creative partnership with Chris Miller, Phil Lord, Bill Lawrence, Erica Rivinoja, Erik Durbin, Judah Miller, Corey Campodonico, Alex Bulkley, and the team at MTV Entertainment Studios,” Max says in a statement obtained by TVLine. “The incredibly talented voice actors, writers, cast and crew provided the opportunity to thaw out these legendary characters.”

Created by Lord, Miller and Lawrence, the series was a direct continuation of the original Clone High , which aired for a single season from 2002 to 2003. The screwball comedy followed high school-aged clones of major historical figures, including Abraham Lincoln (voiced by Will Forte), Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) and JFK (Miller).

One major character from the original Clone High who did not carry over to the revival was Gandhi (Michael McDonald), a clone of Mahatma Gandhi. As the creators reminded TVLine, public outcry over Clone High ‘s hard-partying, foul-mouthed interpretation of the religious figure is what led to the show’s cancellation in the first place, so leaving him in the past was a no-brainer.

“We didn’t want to have it canceled again before it even started,” Lord told us, to which Miller added, “We’re stupid, but not that stupid.”

The show’s revival, which was initially ordered for two seasons, introduced several new clones into the mix — Frida Kahlo (Vicci Martinez), Harriet Tubman (Ayo Edebiri), Confucius (Kelvin Yu) and Topher Bus (Neil Casey), the latter of whom is revealed to be a clone of Christopher Columbus. And Cleopatra, voiced by Christa Miller in the original series, was taken over by Mitra Jouhari in the revival.
