This summer, the Paris Olympic Games will see athletes from over 200 countries vying for glory. The grand opening ceremony, set to take place on the River Seine, will officially kick off the competition on Friday night, July 26.
A multitude of athletes have descended upon France with hopes of clinching medals for their respective nations across a variety of events. Spanning 19 days, this year's Olympics will showcase 34 sports and 47 disciplines. While 202 nations are set to compete, not all athletes will represent a country.
Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian and Belarusian athletes will participate as Individual Neutral Athletes following the ban imposed on their respective Olympic Committees. These athletes will not bring a delegation to the opening ceremony. Several athletes will also represent the Refugee Olympic Team, which represents a conglomerate of diverse communities

The United States boasts the largest squad at this year's Games, with a team of 598 athletes, closely followed by host nation France, which fields 571 athletes. Nine nations, American Samoa, Belize, the Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Liechtenstein, Mauritania, Myanmar, the Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu, will each be represented by a single athlete.
