Brazilian Gymnast Rebeca Andrade Made Her Opinion of Simone Biles Extremely Clear

Simone Biles is a heavy favorite in most every event she'll participate in at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

But, if there's one opposing gymnast who can give Biles a run for her money, it's Brazilian superstar Rebeca Andrade.

In fact, Biles herself admitted that Andrade is the competitor who "scares her the most" heading into this year's games.

Andrade is the reigning world and Olympic vaulting champion. The Brazilian gymnast claimed gold in the vault at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics following Biles' withdrawal from the event.

More recently, Andrade narrowly beat out Biles in the vault at the 2023 World Championships. Biles won gold in three other individual World Championship events, sharing the podium with Andrade in the individual all-around, balance beam and floor.

Andrade and Biles share a great deal of mutual respect. During a recent interview, Andrade expressed how much of an honor it is to share the Olympic stage with the all-time great gymnast.

“It’s about doing my best, and I hope [Biles] does, too. That she does her best because it’s an honor to be able to compete alongside her,” Andrade said of Biles in a recent interview.

Biles and Andrade will kickoff their Olympic campaigns with women's qualifying on Sunday, July 29.
