BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is warning drivers that open-air blasting will be taking place on Saturday.

Hardin Industrial Services LLC., of Mariana Florida, will perform blasting at American Eagle Paper Mill in Tyrone on July 27. Work will be done to implode a chimney at the mill and it will take place from 10:55 a.m. – 11:05 a.m.

To maintain the safety of the traveling public during this time, crews will implement rolling traffic slowdowns along I-99 northbound and southbound from Exit 48 to Exit 52.

Minor traffic delays of up to 10 minutes are expected.
