WYTHE COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR )– The Wythe County Community and community leaders gathered to celebrate the completion of playground updates at Ager Park after completing a multi-year project on Wednesday, July 24.

“Ager Park is a staple of free recreation in Wythe County,” said Director of Wythe County Park and Recreation Kevin Williams. “With these improvements, this playground will hopefully be around for another 30 years and beyond. Most importantly, it is more accessible than ever, ensuring that there is something for every child to enjoy.”

The County held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday with members of the Wythe County Board of Supervisors, County administration and staff, community leaders, and donors. During the event, the playground was filled with children of all ages enjoying the new features of the playground and enjoying shaved ice from local favorite Gilly’s.
