Prince William Dumps Queen Camilla’s Sister From Royal Payroll

Prince William has reportedly fired Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, from the royal payroll after over two decades of service. The Prince of Wales recently took over the Duke of Cornwall title from his father, King Charles—which includes overseeing the Duchy of Cornwall estate estimated to be worth over $1 billion. As reported by The Telegraph, one of William’s first official directives as Duke of the estate was to remove Elliot, who has served as the estate’s chief designer since being hired by King Charles in 2005. Elliot received payments “in the normal course of business” to maintain rental properties, a plant nursery and Duchy offices. However, The Telegraph reported that Elliot was not paid for her services last year. A source close to William told the UK-based news outlet that her removal was “no reflection on her work.” Another source added that Elliot’s role simply had been eliminated and her “work across the estate is considered complete and the current staff have learned sufficiently from her.”
