    Closure of section of Avocado Lake extended

    FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The closure of a section of Avocado Lake in Fresno County has been extended until August, officials announced on Friday.

    Previously, officials announced that from July 22 until July 27, the south side of Avocado Lake will be closed to the public for maintenance purposes.

    On Friday, officials with the county announced an extension of the closure. The south side of Avocado Lake will now reopen on Aug. 2 at 7 a.m.

    Avocado Lake is a 210-acre day-use park that provides recreation including swimming, fishing, and picnicking. It is located 23 miles east of Fresno via Highway 180 and Piedra Road.
