    CPD: 16-year-old girl missing from Avalon Park

    CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department has launched an investigation trying to find a 16-year-old girl who went missing from the city’s Avalon Park neighborhood earlier today.

    CPD said Ja’Niya Hollis was last seen in the area of East 79th Street and South Stony Island Avenue Friday.

    Police describe Hollis as being around 5-foot-5-inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, red Nike sweater, green shorts with white stripes and black Crocs.

    If you or someone you know has information that can help CPD safely find Hollis, police ask you to call 911, or reach out to the Area Two Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274.
