Tulsa Police save man overdosing on fentanyl while serving warrant

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police officers saved a man who was overdosing on fentanyl while serving a warrant for an alleged vehicle theft.

On July 17, officers served a warrant for a suspect of a vehicle theft, Nolen Zack, at a house near 15th and Memorial.

When officers got there, Zack's mother said he was not home, but promised to call if he came home.

As the officers were leaving, the mother alerted them that she found Zack unresponsive in his room upstairs.

Officers found Zack in a critical state, barely breathing with a concerning discoloration.

Police immediately administered Narcan five times on him.

Due to clutter and obstacles inside the house, police carried Zack downstairs so that he could receive further help from paramedics who were arriving at the house. Police said he regained consciousness during this time.

It was determined to be a fentanyl overdose by medical personnel and Zach admitted to using it after finding it in his brother's room.

Zack was taken to the hospital and Tulsa Police said the officers' timely arrival likely saved his life.

After he was released from the hospital, Zack was booked into the Tulsa County jail for an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
