Will The Boys’ Prequel Spinoff Give Us First Herogasm? ‘We’d Be Crazy Not To,’ Says Eric Kripke — WATCH

Vought won’t be the only thing (ahem) rising in Prime Video’s newly announced prequel spinoff of The Boys .

On Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that a prequel series titled Vought Rising would star starring Season 3 guest star/ Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles and franchise vet Aya Cash as OG supe Soldier Boy and Stormfront circa the 1950s.

“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought,” executive producer Eric Kripke and Vought Rising showrunner/EP Paul Grellong said in a statement. “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”

Given that Vought Rising is set in the ’50s and Season 3, Episode 6 of The Boys featured an infamous sequence set at the 70th annual Herogasm, might the prequel series chronicle the very first coming (so to speak) of the supes-charged bacchanal?

“I think we’d be crazy not to,” Kripke told TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett in the video above (at the 2:00 mark), “because Soldier Boy and Stormfront founded it, and they are the two leads of this new show.”

In the video above, Kripke also answers two burning questions coming out of last week’s Season 4 finale: Is Ashley now in fact suped-up herself, or did she die from that impulsive Compound V injection? And what do Butcher’s new (and very strange!) powers mean for any future face-offs against the mighty Homelander?
