When it's insufferably hot outside, a solid haircut is in order for your furry dogs to stay cool. Just ask Zshopa the Great Pyrenees whose new do is making him the coolest guy around (literally)!

On July 25, 2024, Jason Rossman ( @jason rossman ) shared the video on TikTok showing just how much hair was shaved of the good boy and it's a lot. Take a look!

In the video captioned, "Zshopa is loving his new hairdo," the happy Pyrenees is seen lying in the grass with an unbelievable amount of hair in a pile next to him.

"It looked like you spontaneously combusted," his dad said. Zshopa lays back, pure joy written all over his face now that he's lost some of his thick coat. "I feel like we should buy a rake."

Though there's an astonishing amount of fur, Rossman notes this is the second time they're brushed the good boy in 10 days, which is incredible. With more than 91,000 likes and hundreds of comments, Zshopa's many fans think his haircut created the perfect stuffing.

"I seriously thought he found a stuffed toy and ripped it apart with all the white flood," one person joked. "Birds finna have the fluffiest nests in the world," another said. "Hmm.. I don’t think snow was on the forecast today!!" another added.

With the heat, he has to feel so much better now!

How Often Should a Great Pyrenees Get Groomed?

The Great Pyrenees Club of America says the breed's coat is naturally self-cleaning, tangle and mat-resistant, so it doesn't have to be a chore to keep up with grooming . A once-a-week grooming session should be good enough for family dogs, assuming you're getting enough hair off each time. Follow up with a good brushing to get the strays, though not too often or it could break off their hair ends.

The site recommends only an occasional bath, such as when they're shedding , though it's otherwise not necessary to do it weekly. If you have show dogs, it's quite a bit more labor-intensive to keep them neatly groomed with dry cleaning, regular trims, and a balanced diet.

Taking care of such a thick coat like Zshopa's can seem intimidating at first, but once you make it a part of the weekly schedule it'll not only help you stay on top of it but they'll feel like a million bucks (especially in the heat).
