Brazil defeated Nigeria, 1-0, Thursday during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

Former Lady Vols’ soccer player Michelle Alozie made her Olympic debut in the match for Nigeria. She recorded one shot on goal in the match. The former Lady Vol started at defender and played the entire contest.

She played for Nigeria in the 2023 Women’s World Cup and in the 2022 Cup of Nations. Alozie also appeared in three international friendlies for Nigeria.

The Apple Valley, California native played for Tennessee in 2019. She played forward for the Lady Vols, scoring seven career goals, and went to Tennessee as a graduate transfer after four years at Yale.

Alozie plays professionally for the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League.
