Teen Mom star Cheyenne Floyd’s daughter Ryder recently had to deal with hate because of her skin color.

During Thursday’s episode of Teen Mom : The Next Chapter the MTV personality, 31, dealt with her 6-year-old daughter being called a racial slur by seeking outside help. Cheyenne connected with her friend Zaina at Los Toros Mexican Restaurant to tell her what happened with Ryder while her husband Zach Davis and Ryder’s dad Cory Wharton were on a guys-only trip. Zach and Cory’s trip also included other men from the Teen Mom franchise.

“The last day they were there, I took the kids to an indoor play thing, and then all of a sudden, I see Ryder come down. Ryder is sobbing,” Cheyenne told Zaina as they talked over margaritas.

“So it gets explained that basically the boy called Ryder the n-word. And I'm like, 'Oh, f- - - -’' and Ryder is distraught,” Cheyenne said. Zaina admitted that it was saddening that the youngster had her “first encounter of being on the side of getting a racist slur.”

Cheyenne disclosed that she was “more upset” for not reacting as she felt she should’ve when Ryder told her what happened.

“I was just so upset, and I think I was more upset because Ryder was looking at me like, you're not about to do anything? Even though I grew up in a very pro-black home, I feel like when the bold s - - -happened, I got stuck. I didn't know how to even react,” she explained.

Determined to educate herself so she could guide Ryder, Cheyenne divulged to Zaina that she had found an organization that could help her. The reality personality expressed that she planned to include Cory and his girlfriend Taylor in what was going on along with Zach.

Sometime in the show that aired yesterday Cheyenne and Cory met up to talk about her plan to get help on how to advise Ryder. “Daddy growing up didn't respond well to when I was called that. You know what I mean?,” Cory, who is half white and half black, said.

In Cheyenne’s household, race was often discussed when she was growing up. However, it wasn’t like that for Cory.

“In my house it wasn't like that. I was raised by my white mother. We never talked about color. Even when these situations would arise and like I'd be getting racist phone calls and things like that...,” Cory stated.

Cory confessed that he would “keep it all in” after Cheyenne asked him if he ever told his mom about the racism he encountered.

“I couldn't imagine the things that I've gone through and come home, and then I'm just sitting there, and it's like no one's talking about it. Or I don't have a place to talk about it and feel like I'm heard or understood. It's like you just had to deal with that by yourself,' Cheyenne admitted.

Cheyenne informed Cory about Color of Change, a group that helps parents learn about the correct way to speak to their children about racial issues.
