Matthew Stafford must be all smiles.

On Tuesday, he reached a contract agreement with the franchise. Then on Friday, he was named to the NFL Top 100 list , coming in at No. 42 overall.

Stafford was ranked ahead of players like Kyle Hamilton (No. 43) and Demario Davis (No. 44). His inclusion on the list is a tip of the cap to how well he played during the 2023 season. The 36-year-old quarterback wasn't ranked ahead of the 2023 season.

"After a 2022 season that was cut short due to a scary spinal injury, Stafford came back in 2023 and proved 2022 was a fluke and he’s still got it 15 years into his NFL career," writes NFL Network . "Stafford recorded 3,965 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to help lead the Rams back to the playoffs, while crucially only missing two games due to injury. He finished the year by being named to his second Pro Bowl and first since 2014."

Stafford is the third Ram to appear on this year's Top 100 list, joining running back Kyren Williams (No. 78) and wide receiver Cooper Kupp (No. 69).

It is Stafford's seventh career appearance on the list.

The Rams acquired Stafford from the Detroit Lions in 2021 in exchange for Jared Goff, two first-round picks, and a third-rounder. Los Angeles won the Super Bowl in Stafford's first season with the team, and they reached a four-year extension right thereafter.
