Halfway through 2024, these are the 10 most expensive homes sold in North Jersey

We're only a little more than halfway through 2024, but North Jersey has already seen many luxury home sales take place across our region.

Between mansions on several acres of land, amenities like home theaters and wine cellars, and properties owned by professional athletes, we've kept track of the grandest homes that have sold so far this year in North Jersey. Even if you can't afford a home like this yourself, at least you can admire the architecture, design elements and elaborate features from afar.

There are the 10 most expensive single-family home sales so far in 2024:

    1. 24 Cambridge Way, Alpine — $8 million

In North Jersey's famously most expensive ZIP code , the stone mansion at 24 Cambridge Way in Alpine was the priciest single-family property to sell in all of North Jersey so far this year, boasting a price tag of $8 million. Listed by Christine LaBarbiera of Christie's International Real Estate Group and bought with Rosemarie Campi of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty, the property was relisted several times and had multiple price reductions over the course of several years before officially selling in May.

The property was designed by LaBarbiera Custom Homes, which has built more than 105 luxury homes throughout Bergen County. This seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom home sits on a two-acre lot and boasts about 18,000-square-feet of living space. Throughout the home, there are amenities like a movie theater, a home library, a gym, a massage room, a wine bar and more. There is also a 12-car garage and a large outdoor entertainment area with a fireplace, pool and spa.

    2. 50 Allison Road, Alpine — $7.5 million

Also located in North Jersey's priciest ZIP code, 50 Allison Road in Alpine is a to-be-built estate that sold in February for $7.5 million . Co-listed by Taylor Lucyk and Christina LaBarbiera of Christie's International Real Estate Group and bought with Mary Premtaj of Compass New Jersey, the property had been on the market since 2022 before officially selling for $450,000 less than its original asking price.

Located on two-acres of land on a private cul-de-sac, the home is slated to have five bedrooms and nine bathrooms with more than 8,000-square-feet of living space. The property is expected to feature a first-floor suite , an indoor basketball court, a four-car garage with room for lifts and a backyard with a pool and spa.

    3. 10 Frick Drive, Alpine — $7.13 million

Originally listed in 2019 for a cool $17.99 million , the French chateau-inspired mansion at 10 Frick Drive in Alpine finally sold this past May for $7.13 million. Listed and bought with Dennis McCormack of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty, the property was relisted several times over the last five years.

The property was last owned by Ilya Kovalchuk — a former Russian hockey star that played for teams like the New Jersey Devils — who purchased the property with his wife, singer Nicole Andrazajtis in 2010 for $4.5 million. The couple had purchased what, at the time, was a 2-acre lot and built the 22,000-square-foot home.

When it was listed, the home featured amenities like a home theater, massage room, exercise room, dry sauna, wine and tasting room, wet bar, three kitchens, eight bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and an indoor pool. But the description for the listing stated that the home was sold as approximately 50% complete, and the property's buyers are obligated to complete the home.
