CAMBRIDGE − Maddie Enright was crowned the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) Queen of Queens on July 20, during halftime at the Rudy Mumley OVAC All-Star football game.
Enright was the 2023 Cambridge High School Homecoming queen, which qualified her to compete in the OVAC Queen of Queens pageant.
The pageant, a tradition since 1952, took place July 18 at JB Chambers Performing Arts Center at Wheeling Park High School. The selection of the queen is based on 60% talent, 25% poise and presentation and 15% personality/interview.
Enright was one of 23 contestants from the Ohio Valley area who competed in the pageant and is the first queen from Cambridge High School to hold the title. The fourth runner-up was Wheeling Central’s Jayden Burge, the third runner-up was Linsly's Avery Sadlowski, the second runner-up was Wheeling Park’s Savannah Burkhart and Bellaire’s Abigail LaRoche was first runner-up and named Miss Congeniality.
Enright will be attending Point Park University in August and plans to major in dance and education. She will be back to crown the next Cambridge High School Homecoming queen on Sept. 20 at McFarland Stadium.
