Lametra Rogan makes a career in radio

TUPELO — Lametra Rogan, known professionally as DJ Gucci Girl, was raised on gospel music by her grandmother in Ripley. These days, she shares the same joy that music brought her as a child through the classic hip-hop and R&B tunes she plays for listeners on The Pulse 104.3 FM in Tupelo.

Rogan, 35, was introduced to DJing in her teens by Gill Johnson and Allen Christmas who would DJ events in her hometown.
