Dating apps including Tinder have reportedly seen a spike in use after thousands of athletes descended on Paris for the Olympics.

Over 14,000 of the world's peak-conditioned athletes from all corners of the globe have gathered in Paris for weeks of intense competition . Their accommodations are strewn with free condoms, a whopping 200,000 of them to be exact, in this enclave located northeast of the City of Love.

The games haven't technically started yet, but athletes are already exploring potential matches on various dating platforms including Tinder, Hinge and Bumble.

Historically, the Olympic village has always been a hotspot for athletes to unwind and mingle after they've finished their events. Originally, concerns were raised about the sustainability-designed "no-sex beds" collapsing upon any 'extracurricular activities ,' but fears were assuaged by several athletes including Irish gymnast and medal contender Rhys McCleneghan.

However, the lovers might not find the conditions ideal as the Parisian organizers have chosen not to equip the rooms with air conditioning.

The delegation from the United States managed to bring their own cooling system in anticipation of the balmy weather forecasted for next week. This luxury, unfortunately, will likely remain exclusive to the U.S. team, potentially turning up the heat elsewhere in the village.

Emily Campbell, representing Team GB in weightlifting commented on a recent podcast that varying competition schedules add another dimension to the mix: "The thing you'll have is that people finish at different times in the Games.

"It's on for two weeks but the swimmers, the rowers, they'll start in the first week. Then the track-and-field might not start until the end of the second week.

"In Paris, for example, I'm not until the final day. But essentially yeah, they always say there's no alcohol in the village and everyone always finds a way to get it in.

"Then there's basically people who just party in the village and everyone just starts to obviously intermingle. There are thousands of athletes that have been training in discipline for four years, some of the best-looking people on the planet all in one place.

"There actually are fish bowls of condoms and stuff around because they know it happens."
