If diving’s your Olympic sport of choice, you’re in luck – Day 1 opens with the women’s synchro springboard final live on NBC.
For early birds and gymnastics lovers, the men’s gymnastics qualifiers kick off at 5:50 a.m. ET.
It’s a big day for the freestyle stroke, with four gold medals up for grabs in the men’s 400m freestyle, women’s 4x100m freestyle relay, men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and the women’s 400m freestyle, where veteran swimmer Katie Ledecky will make her fourth Olympic appearance, aiming for her eighth gold medal.
The streets of Paris will be bustling with cyclists as the cycling trials get underway with the women’s side starting at 9 a.m. ET.
The men hit the road soon after at 10:45 a.m. ET, which you can catch live on USA Network.
Plus, don’t miss the U.S. men’s soccer team as they continue group stage play at 1 p.m. against Group A competitors New Zealand.

Event to watch: Surfing – Day 1
Making its second appearance in the Olympics, surfers showcase their skills with maneuvers and tricks, evaluated by five judges for variety, type, difficulty, speed, power and flow.
The competitors use shortboards, which are known for their speed and maneuverability.
Team USA’s Carissa Moore, who became the first-ever Olympic gold medalist in women’s shortboard surfing, will shoot for her second gold.
Despite it being the Paris Games, the surfing competition will be held in Teahupo’o, a small village on the coast of Tahiti.
