Meghan Markle reportedly whisked herself away to New York on Friday to take in a star-studded business summit in the Hamptons .

The Duchess of Sussex is yet to officially launch her American Riviera Orchard brand and is thought to have headed to the lavish bash to mix with some of the best in the business - including Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow .

The 42-year-old former Suits actress is thought to have attended the G9 Ventures Summer Summit, hosted by power broker Amy Griffin. The annual event welcomes some of the biggest names in business to the sprawling home of Griffin, which is worth over $13million.

According to Page Six , Meghan flew in for the summit from Santa Barbara alongside her close friend, make-up guru Victoria Jackson. Other guests who were expected to be at the event included make-up icon Bobbi Brown and entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima. Celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon were also thought to be at the event, as too was actress Laura Dern and Spanx founder Sara Blakely.

Meghan is yet to officially launch American Riviera Orchard, with samples of jam so far being sent out to those closest to her to share with their followers. She is expected to release plenty of items , including a homeware collection as well as a line of butters, jams, and marmalades.

While she will no doubt be eager for success, a PR expert thinks her and Prince Harry's fallout from the Royal Family could see her hit with a number of issues . Speaking to the Mirror US, Ryan McCormick said: "Meghan and Harry severing ties and writing a tell-all-book did give them a popularity boost initially but, the controversy appears to have had a lasting negative PR fallout in the eyes of some. As time has passed The Duo seem to be continuously drifting further away from their previous peak of fame.

"Meghan likely realizes that there is a lot riding on her upcoming new projects and will have to sleep in the bed she's made regardless of where these dominos fall."

Following the news of her upcoming brand launch, Meghan made a trademark application for American Riviera Orchard which showed her plans to expand into workout gear and dog treats.
