Prince William and King Charles III once had a heated disagreement over a challenging issue , resulting in the future king being compelled to sign a 'waiver'. This revelation comes from Robert Jobson's insightful new biography, Catherine, The Princess of Wales. The book delves into the life journey of Princess Kate, from an ordinary university student to a mother of three and a Queen-in-waiting.

Royal correspondent Jobson reports that this dispute arose after King Charles' cancer diagnosis, which led him to temporarily step back from his official duties. It's thought that his own mortality, as well as the future of the monarchy, was undoubtedly weighing heavily on Charles' mind as he admonished his eldest son on a difficult topic.

Like his later mother Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles had serious concerns about experienced pilot William's decision to fly his young family around the country in a helicopter. Haunted by the horrific memories of the 1967 crash that claimed the life of the Captain of the Queen's Flight, senior royals voiced grave fears for the safety of the Wales family.

They were also worried that any similar tragedies could disrupt the line of succession in dramatic ways, reports the Mirror .

In a tantalizing snippet shared by the Mail Online, Jobson penned: "After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles - perhaps reminded of his own mortality - echoed his late mother's concerns. And when William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted that he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions. It would be scant consolation, of course, for an unspeakable tragedy, let alone for the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan."

The much-anticipated biography, set to hit the shelves on August 1, is touted as a 'revelatory' tome that 'tells the full story of how Catherine, the Princess of Wales, became the widely admired woman she is today, offering a closer look at the 'modern-day fairytale' that has captivated the nation.

Per the book's blurb: "Her self-deprecation, willingness to laugh at herself, solid work ethic - along with her husband, William, warmth, and accessibility - this Royal Family's dynamic duo have become the most popular members of the Royal Family. But it's not come without its fair share of commentary and scandal, particularly with recent revelations on the relationship of the 'Fab Four' with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as her own health scares."
