    FIVE INJURED IN COOPER COUNTY ACCIDENT

    Five area residents were injured in an accident on Old Highway 40 on Friday, July 26.

    A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred Dante Suero, of Boonville, fell asleep while driving eastbound and crossed the center of the road. Suero’s vehicle struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Dalton Cook, of Fayette. Cook’s vehicle was forced off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

    Suero was taken to University Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Cook and three passengers in his vehicle had minor injuries in the crash.

    The accident occurred at 5:50 p.m. on Old Highway 40, west of Blackberry Court in Cooper County.
