Meiko Satomura announced that she will retire in April 2025.

Satomura confirmed the news during a press conference, saying that she would retire in April 2025, which will mark the 30th year of her debut. During the press conference, Satomura detailed how she would start wrestling on a farewell tour of sorts in September, beginning with her Sendai Girls promotion. She also teased that she would be open to wrestling elsewhere during this last run.

Emi Sakura made an appearance at the press conference and expressed her interest in facing Satomura.

Satomura signed with WWE in 2020, and she is a former NXT UK Women’s Champion. She made her debut in 1995 and wrestled for PROGRESS, STARDOM, and DDT, among other promotions. She also wrestled for WCW in the 1990s.

Satomura will challenge Bayley for the WWE Women’s World Championship at the WWE live event in Tokyo on July 27th.
