Celine Dion Pens Heartfelt Message After Tear-Jerking Performance at Paris Olympics

Celine Dion continues to put fans in their feels after her jaw-dropping performance at the opening ceremony for the Summer 2024 Paris Olympics .

In case you missed it, the powerhouse vocalist sang from the Eiffel Tower during the ceremony on Friday, July 26, delivering a powerful rendition of Édith Piaf’s "Hymne à l’amour," sung entirely in French. The performance marked Dion's first since her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

After taking the stage, the 56-year-old singer took to Instagram to share her feelings about the performance, which she said she was "honored" to have done.

Noting that she was "so full of joy" to be in Paris, one of her "very favorite cities," Dion said, "Most of all, I'm so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance."

"All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home the medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you!" the "Power of Love" singer added in the touching post. "You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best."

Concluding her message, Dion wrote, "Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you!"

Dion's post opened the floodgates for fans and fellow celebs to tell the Grammy-winner how much they appreciated her breathtaking performance. Among them was Today 's Hoda Kotb , who commented on the post, "Triumphant comeback!!!!! We were crying❤️❤️❤️."

Cyndi Lauper also took to the comments, where she told Dion, "Omg dear lady, you kicked butt! See what hard work and belief does! I’m sending love. You are an inspiration❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️xx Cyn."

"Tears were flowing all over the world during and after your performance," Linda Thompson chimed in. "We were all joyous to see you and hear you beautiful Celine! So grateful you are on your road to full recovery. I love you always and send you my heart.💜🎶👏."
