Concerning Team USA Update Emerges Ahead Of Paris Olympics Opener

The Team USA men's basketball team has already run into some turbulence before their 2024 Paris Olympics debut.

Team USA's two best big men Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid are both dealing with illnesses, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Embiid reportedly missed practice on Saturday due to the issue, while Davis has missed practice time "over the past several days."

The report comes just one day ahead of Team USA's 2024 Olympics opener against Serbia, who are led by 3-time MVP Nikola Jokic.

Despite the concerning health updates on Davis and Embiid, Team USA head coach Steve Kerr didn't sound worried. Kerr stated that he was "confident" that both players would be ready for Sunday's contest.

The reigning gold medalists are heavy favorites to defend their spot atop Olympic basketball. But if there's one area where other teams can match up with them, it's in the interior. All-world players like Jokic, Victor Wembanyama, and Giannis Antetokounmpo lurk on opposing rosters.

Should Davis or Embiid miss time, Team USA also has 2020 Olympic gold medalist Bam Adebayo on their roster.
