Grimes' mother says Elon Musk is "withholding" the former couple's children from the rest of the family.

Sandy Garossino addressed Musk directly in a series of X posts on Saturday, writing that Grimes and her children were scheduled to visit their 93-year-old great-grandmother in Canada this weekend. Grimes, a Canadian singer, shares three children with Musk: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus.

"She was thrilled for the kids' planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today. But those hopes were crushed when the trip was canceled," Garossino wrote on X.

"I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire," she added, referring to Grimes by her given first name.

Musk attended the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on Friday with his and Grimes' eldest son, X. Footage shared on X appeared to show Musk and his son together at the event.

He also attended Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to members of Congress on Wednesday in Washington, DC.

Garossino implied that Grimes doesn't even know where all her children are.

"Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother. They were expected here in Canada," she wrote.

Garossino then asked Musk to "honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes."

"Please Elon, I beg you. This is so painful for my mother, and concerning for the kids. Time is of the essence now," she wrote.

Grimes and Musk have been in a custody battle over their children since 2022, but the current status of the case is unknown because the court records were sealed in April 2024.

Musk has 12 children with three women, including his ex-wife Justine Wilson and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

After Garossino spoke out on X, Musk's estranged daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson also criticized the Tesla founder on Threads.

Wilson publicly criticized Musk in an NBC News interview published on Thursday. Wilson, who is transgender, told NBC that Musk was an absent father and cruel. Musk has referred to Wilson by her deadname on X, and wrote that she was "not a girl."

"As you may or may not know, Grimes is currently in a custody battle with Elon over their 3 children," Wilson wrote on Threads on Saturday. "What you probably don't know, however, is that Elon has been illegally and continuously keeping their children, her children, away from their mother during the most important developmental period in a child's life."

Grimes voiced her support for Wilson with an X post on Thursday following the NBC News interview.

"I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian," Grimes wrote.

Business Insider reached Garossino over text message on Saturday. She said that for now she wasn't making any more comments beyond what she wrote on X on Saturday.

Representatives for Grimes and Musk did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
