Gymnast Simone Biles is arguably the most popular athlete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The seven-time medalist appears ready to dominate the all-around competition and win gold alongside teammates Jade Carey, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera.

Biles' comeback to the sport after taking a nearly two-year break from gymnastics is nothing short of incredible. Following what the 27-year-old described as a "big, world global meltdown" at the Tokyo Olympics in her Netflix docuseries, she's put her mental health at the forefront.

“I used to just sit here and cry and cry and cry,” Biles said after "the twisties" forced her to withdraw from the team competition in Tokyo, “ask God why this happened to me.” However, with weekly therapy sessions and gut knowledge that she wasn't ready to retire, Biles started her long journey back to elite gymnastics.

One day before the women's qualifying round in Paris, Biles sent a strong message to those who fell out of her life when she was at her lowest.

She wrote on Threads, "if I'm ignoring you it's because you weren't on the journey up." Biles then added, "don't hit me with that 'hey' how's Paris' GOODBYEEEEEE."

Biles has her support system locked in for Paris. The nine-time national champion's mother, Nellie Biles, revealed during the opening ceremonies on NBC that "17 of us are here to cheer her on." Biles' husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, arrives in Paris on July 29.

If Biles earns just one medal in Paris, she'll become the most decorated American gymnast of all time.

The women's qualification round starts at 5:40 a.m. ET on July 28. The women's team final starts at 12:15 p.m. ET on July 30. The women's all-around final takes place on Aug. 1 at 12:15 p.m.
