IHOP is just days away from officially unveiling its August 2024 Pancake of the Month—but a preview of the limited-time flavor is already eliciting a divided response among fans.

The pancake house picked a classic Fourth of July theme for its most recent Pancake of the Month , with July’s Fresh Red, White & Blueberry breakfast proudly showing off the colors of the American flag as strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream topped tasty buttermilk pancakes.

Looking ahead to August, the restaurant chain will keep the fruity theme, though with an entirely different spin. Instead of a fresh fruit topping, IHOP’s buttermilk pancakes will be filled with bits of Lemon Oreo cookies, which will also serve as the breakfast food’s topping, according to an August Pancake of the Month preview shared on Instagram by Snackolator. Each stack of pancakes will also be topped with a creamy cheesecake mousse and whipped cream.

The Lemon Oreo flavor will be available as a limited-time milkshake as well, which Snackolator’s Friday, July 26, preview describes as having vanilla ice cream, lemonade and pieces of Lemon Oreo cookies. Like the pancakes, the milkshake includes a Lemon Oreo cookie and whipped cream topping.

Fans who commented on the food blogger’s Instagram post were thoroughly divided over whether they thought the new flavor would be worth a try.

Some intrigued fans wrote that they “Need” to try the flavor, while others said the meal “sounds *delicious *.”

“The lemon Oreos are 🔥 already,” one Instagram user declared.

“You only live once,” another Instagram user pointed out.

Others indicated the flavor would be a hard pass for them.

“Can’t decide if the creator needs Hell or prison time,” one person joked as another declared Lemon Oreo was the “Worst flavor.”

“Noope,” one Instagram user commented as another agreed, writing, “Ew !”

The debate appeared succinctly summed up in a single fan comment, which read, “ive never been more confused in my life. like am i repulsed or am i enticed?”

For those curious to try out the Lemon Oreo Pancakes or Lemon Oreo Milkshake, both menu items will be available at IHOP locations starting on Aug. 1.
