    After recent thefts on trail, NCCo police urge residents to remain vigilant

    After recent crime along the Jack A. Markell Trail, New Castle County police advise all using the path to remain vigilant.

    New Castle County police announced on July 27 that it has “recently investigated several thefts and attempted thefts” along the popular spot where residents can often be seen walking, biking and running.

    The following safety tips were shared by the agency:

    • Keep your valuables out of sight.
    • Travel with a partner when possible.
    • Be cautious of unfamiliar individuals or activities.
    • If you notice anything suspicious, immediately call 911.
    • Provide as detailed of a description as you can to police if you report an issue.
