The Delray Beach Firehouse Subs at 1000 Linton Blvd Ste A4 in Palm Beach County has some work to do to please the food and health authorities, following an inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation on July 22.

What Happened During The Inspection: The inspection, which revealed eight violations, including five high-priority infractions, resulted in an administrative complaint and a required follow-up review.

The inspector's note showed high-priority issues included food-contact surfaces not being sanitized due to a missing sanitizer solution gallon, which an employee promptly replaced.

A stop sale was also issued on meatballs held at temperatures between 66-78°F for over four hours, indicating temperature abuse. Additionally, pastrami and Swiss cheese were held at 52°F in the flip-top cooler, necessitating corrective action.

Intermediate violations involved improper use of the handwash sink, which had a lid stored in it, and the absence of paper towels and soap at the handwash sink by the dishwashing area. These issues were corrected on-site.

Firehouse Subs, known for its made-to-order hot and cold subs, holds a 3.9-star rating from 214 Google reviews. Despite the infractions, the restaurant remains a popular choice among locals.

A recent customer named Brian Huggins with well over 300 reviews, shared on Google Reviews:

We always show up later, just before closing. Sandwiches are still awesome. The staff is quite lively even at that time. Only good things to say.

The follow-up inspection will determine if the necessary improvements have been implemented to meet regulatory standards.

NOTE: Please note that an inspection report, per the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, provides a snapshot of the conditions observed during the inspection.
