The 151-acre Acorn Fire burning north of Clear Lake in Lake County is 65% contained, Cal Fire said Saturday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Cal Fire spokesperson Jason Clay added.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office currently does not have any evacuation warnings in place.

The fire began Thursday afternoon between Nice and Upper Lake. By Friday evening, fire fighting crews – which included 25 engines, three helicopters, and firefighters, dozers, water tenders and air tankers – had stopped the fire’s forward progress and reached 50% containment.

This is one of several fires crews have been battling in the region over the past week.

Earlier Saturday, Cal Fire Sonoma-Napa-Lake unit announced 100% containment of the 36-acre Flora Fire, west of Healdsburg.

The unit is also fighting the 2,756-acre Ridge Fire, located off Highway 20 on the eastern edge of Lake County toward Colusa County.

Fire crews remain at the scene of both fires to conduct “heavy mop-up operations” to ensure “all control lines are fortified” to reach full containment, Clay said.
