Fans Celebrate as Team USA Wins First Gold Medal in 2024 Summer Olympics

Team USA is on the board.

The men's 4x100 freestyle relay team won the first gold medal for the USA in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on Saturday afternoon with a time of 3:09.28.

The silver medal went to Australia at 3:10.35, and the bronze went to Italy at 3:10.70.

It was American star Caleb Dressel who anchored the relay in a dominant showing for Team USA, where they had a length lead for most of the final 100 meters. Dressel and his teammates celebrated emphatically after the race was over, and a crowd shot showed Snoop Dogg celebrating with Dressel's wife in the crowd.

Dressel was set up by Jack Alexy, Chris Guiliano, and Hunter Armstrong, who all dominated their portions of the relay and let Dressel bring it home.

This is the 8th gold medal of Dressel's Olympic career.
