Angel Reese Fans Up In Arms Over Victor Wembanyama's Highlight Play For France

France picked up a 78-66 victory over Brazil on Saturday to kick off their 2024 Summer Olympics action, and their young star in Victor Wembanyama led the way (19 PTS, 9 REB, 2 AST, 7-13 FGM).

Brazil simply had no answer for Wembanyama's incredible height, and he got pretty much whatever he wanted in the paint throughout this game.

One particular highlight saw Wemby get an and-one putback layup after he missed three putbacks before that, while collecting the offensive rebounds in the process. Fans of star WNBA rookie Angel Reese were quick to note that the Chicago Sky center gets blasted by fans for making similar plays when she is on the court.

Reese has become renowned for her rebounding skills early on in her WNBA career, but some folks have claimed that she is stat padding by throwing the ball off the backboard and getting her own rebounds.

Well, that's precisely what Wembanyama does here, and he ended up drawing quite a bit of praise for sticking with the play and finding a way to eventually score the basket.

So after seeing this play, maybe some fans will go easier on Reese when she and the Sky eventually return to action and she ends up pulling off a similar play.
