La Crosse County Democratic Party mobilize volunteers for upcoming election

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- We learned last week that President Joe Biden will be dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.

On the local front, members of the La Crosse County Democratic Party are mobilizing canvassers to go door to door as election season approaches.

With just 100 days remaining until the election, one organizer said they've seen a significant increase in both volunteers and donations.

"At first, people were sad, and yes, everybody was sad that Joe stepped down, but he was for a party and for his country. Passed the torch to Kamala, and we have gotten more people in the office wanting to volunteer in some form of fashion," said Tina Pohlman, Vice Chair of the La Crosse County Democrats.

She adds that she has yet to see this level of enthusiasm since Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. Through canvassing, she hopes to recruit even more volunteers.
