OHIO (WJW) – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is hosting special deer hunts at eight separate nature preserves across the state for the 2024-25 hunting season.
According to a press release from the ODNR Division of Natural Areas and Preserves , both gun and archery hunts are offered this year at nature preserves that have been identified as areas where deer populations pose a threat to native plant communities.
Man arrested after police chase, wrong-way crash Hunters who would like to participate in the special deer hunts must attend a mandatory meeting for each preserve they would like to hunt. Hunters will then be able to purchase a $5 ticket to be interred in the preserve’s hunt drawing.
According to the release , hunters who win the drawing will be asked to stay for a pre-hunt orientation
The 2024-25 special hunting locations include:
- Gun hunting at Boch Hollow in Hocking County
- Mandatory Meeting: Saturday, Aug. 24, 11:30 a.m. at 7211 Bremen Rd., Logan, OH 43138
