Fan-favorite women’s gymnastics opens Day 2 at 6 a.m. ET with the qualification rounds at Bercy Arena.

Simone Biles, USA Gymnastics stalwart with seven Olympic medals — four of them gold —aims for redemption after withdrawing from numerous events at the Tokyo Olympics due to the”twisties.”

Biles will captain the five-member squad, which includes Jade Carrey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee and Hezly Rivera – the 16-year-old Jersey native making her Olympic debut.

The U.S. women’s soccer team continues group stage play against Germany, with a 3 p.m. ET kick-off.

Turning up the excitement, Team USA men’s basketball – featuring Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum and more – open their Olympic campaign in a Group C matchup against Serbia at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Event to watch: Fencing – Day 2

A sport of both tradition and evolution, fencing has been a fixture in the Olympics since its inception in the inaugural Games – Athens 1896.

The women’s side debuted in Paris in 1924, expanding to include foil, épée, and sabre events over the years. Fencers wield weapons to strike target areas, with rules varying by weapon type.

The competition will be held at the Grand Palais Museum in Paris.

The sport features 12 different Olympic events, and Lee Kiefer of the U.S. sets her sights on a second gold medal in the women’s individual foil.
