The joy of seeing Simone Biles make a successful return to the Olympics quickly turned to concerns after the legendary gymnast suffered an injury.

Biles went viral after she pulled off a flawless routine on the beam to start her 2024 Olympics battle. But just minutes after that, reports emerged that she's complaining about her left ankle.

According to Yahoo Sports, Biles said that it hurts when she puts weight on her left ankle. The 27-year-old then left the arena floor with team doctor, Dr. Marcia Faustin, sparking more concerns about her injury.

The good news is that Biles was able to return with a heavily taped-up left ankle, though fans couldn't help but still be concerned.

"Simone Biles definitely has an injury. She’s still competing tho and cameras have heard her saying it hurts so bad," a fan shared.

Another commenter said, "Me watching Simone Biles talk to the trainers about what is maybe an injury…."

"God please let Simone Biles go through these Olympics injury-free," a third supporter prayed.

While Simone Biles is back and appears to be fighting through the pain, it remains to be seen how it will affect her moving forward. The Olympics is just getting started, and it will surely be a huge blow if the injury hinders Biles' performance.
