Through just one day at the Paris Olympics, American gymnast Simone Biles has already entered the history books.

At Sunday's qualifying, Biles and teammate Suni Lee qualified to compete in the all-around final, which NBC News reporter Kaetlyn Liddy noted was a historic accomplishment. For the first time in Olympics history, two Olympics all-around champions will go head-to-head in the all-around final.

Biles won gold in the all-around in 2016, while teammate Lee took the top honor at the 2020 Olympics.

Biles will have the chance to make even more history at the Paris Olympics. The American star already has five elements named after her and submitted a sixth to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), this time on the uneven bars.

If Biles can land the move, she becomes the only active gymnast with a move named after her in all four gymnastics events. Biles already has two elements named after her in the vault, two in the floor event and one on the beam.
